アメリカの国民と市民権
永住権と市民権の違いを話していたら、市民権と国籍は違うのか、とうい話になったため調べてみました。
以下のサイトにこう書かれています。
“the term ‘national of the United States’ means (A) a citizen of the United States, or (B) a person who, though not a citizen of the United States, owes permanent allegiance to the United States.”

アメリカ国民は（A）アメリカの市民権を有しているか、（B)アメリカの市民権は有していないが”permanent allegiance” （永久的な忠誠）を有している人、とあります。つまりアメリカ国籍を有していても市民権を有していない人がいる、ということです。
ではこの(B)に該当するのはどういう人かと言うと、以下のサイトのこうありました。
“Persons born in American Samoa and Swains Island are generally considered nationals but not citizens of the United States.”

American SamoaとSwains Island生まれのアメリカ国民以外は、皆市民権を有しているかは調べきれませんでしたが、なかなか複雑なようです。
